The most important thing to know is that I am no professional. I am just a college student who loves to cook and study nutrition. Now I want to share everything I learn with you.

My Story

Welcome! I'm Nicolas Aglaure and I am the Ignorant Vegan.

 

Between growing up in the mountains and living the French culture my family is tied to, I have had my fair share of heavy and rich comfort foods. From all the bread and cheese you can imagine to big chilis and beef stews, I was thriving in the cheeses, creams and meats. I inevitably gained quite a bit of weight and remained overweight for most of my childhood. I was still athletic and pushed myself to snowboard, play soccer and tennis, but the extra weight always had en effect on my own perception of myself.

I have done every diet under the sun and spent months and months trying to get the weight off but no matter what, it always seemed to creep back and my efforts felt pointless. It wasn't until January of 2021 that my mindset changed completely. After a bit of personal study into an all plant-based diet, I decided to change some things. I put in my best effort for 1 month and saw immediate changes. By the next month, I had lost just under 20 pounds and I wake up everyday feeling healthier and healthier. Something was working. I had to tell more people about it.

So that brings me here. There is still so much I don't know, but as I learn, I hope this place can be a site for those who are experienced in the lifestyle and those, like myself, who are ignorant but wanting to know more. Come learn with me, or teach me what you know!
